Celebrating Captain Reed Astley’s Career and Retirement

Join us in celebrating Captain Reed Astley as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement from the Valley Regional Fire Authority!

Reed started his journey with the legacy Auburn Fire Department (now VRFA) in 2004 and rose to the rank of Captain in 2017. During his career, he served on the Medical Program Specialist team and contributed to the South King County Fire Training Consortium.

Reed held multiple leadership positions with IAFF L1352 and the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters. One of Reed’s most impactful achievements was championing a sensory-inclusive program, ensuring our services are accessible and welcoming to individuals with sensory needs.
