Valley Regional Fire Authority's wildland urban interface home project of the week focuses on fire prevention and rescue efforts.

Wildland Urban Interface Home Project – Week 5

It is week 5 of our Wildland Urban Interface Home Project of the Week campaign.

Week 5 Project: By now, you have probably had to cut your lawn at least once, if not more. As the weather gets warmer and drier, try to keep your lawn hydrated. If it does dry out, keep it cut down to reduce fire intensity. Be sure to dispose of lawn clippings through curbside pick-up, or if that isn’t available, visit kingcounty.gov/depts/dnrp/solid-waste.aspx for other options. If you live in Pierce County, go to https://www.piercecountywa.gov/1525/Yard-Waste.

Next week look for information on putting together an emergency plan for your family.
