A house is engulfed in flames, while a brave firefighter from the Fire Department rushes in to rescue anyone trapped inside.

Two Lea Hill homes damaged by fire, seven displaced

Two homes sustained significant damage and seven people from two families were displaced as a result of an early morning fire on December 24.

Neighbors made the first call to 9-1-1 at 2:51 a.m. after spotting flames coming from a carport in the 31600 block of 119th Pl. SE in Auburn. VRFA crews arrived five minutes later to find not just one home on fire, but two. Fortunately, all of the residents had evacuated and no one was injured.

VRFA investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, electrical in nature. Two adults and three children from one home were assisted by the American Red Cross while an adult female and a teen from the other residence are staying with family.

The approximately 1,000 square foot homes were separated by approximately ten feet.
