VRFA staff assist with wildfires in Eastern Washington, Oregon and California

The VRFA strives to help with the continuing wildfires while maintaining full staffing to serve our communities.

Deployment Update:

Captain Ryan Chadwick has safely returned from fighting the Cold Springs/Pearl Hill fire in Eastern Washington where he worked on a team with two Renton RFA firefighters. One Battalion Chief remains deployed as part of a COVID-19 Health Unit assigned to the Dolan Fire in California. Two of our firefighters left Monday to join a task force heading to help with the Oregon wildfires. One additional firefighter trained and certified in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) was also deployed to Oregon to assist with locating possible fire victims.

This short video clip comes from one of the first nights of the Sumner Grade Fire, when our firefighters were called to assist.
