Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks Start of Construction for New Fire Station 36

On May 1, 2025 members of the Governance Board, firefighters, VRFA staff, and other attendees gathered at the new Fire Station 36 site to celebrate the start of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony. Swinerton Construction will begin building the new station in mid-May. The project is expected to take approximately one year to complete.

Set on a 1.59-acre lot, Station 36 will be a 14,400-square-foot facility housing one engine company consisting of one Captain and two firefighters. Designed with the future in mind, the facility includes eight bunk rooms and three apparatus bays.
