Capital Facilities Growth Report: What’s New This Month

Station 36: 

Construction on Station 36 is continuing to progress! The roof decking has been completed, and the slab for the fuel fill station has been poured. Crews are currently focused on cold-formed metal framing for the walls, installing the roof’s vapor barrier as weather permits, and carrying out various miscellaneous site work.

VRFA Headquarters:

The design team is currently working on the DD drawing set, advancing the project’s development and preparing detailed documentation. Looking ahead, project bidding is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2026, marking a significant milestone in the overall timeline.

Station 31:

A preconstruction meeting with the City of Auburn is scheduled for the end of January 2026. In the meantime, the design team is continuing cost estimating efforts to refine the project’s layout and design. With these steps underway, the project is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026, marking an important milestone in the overall timeline.

Station 38: 

The Land Use permit for the project is currently under review by the city. Meanwhile, the Fire Fighter Committee has narrowed down preferences for exterior building materials, and the architects are preparing updated renderings of the facility for review and approval. Looking ahead, project bidding is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, marking an important milestone in the overall timeline.
